HP Indigo 5500

Re: HP Indigo 5500

I offered to pay them 75K for install and licensing fees which should have covered his commission. I think that was a very generous offer.

I know that you cannot run #10 envelopes thru the Indigo, but how about 9 X 12 envelopes. Anybody have any experience with this?

the 5000

the 5000

our company just bought a used hp indigo 5000 for me to run. so far it's a lemon. the tech and i have changed out quite a few parts.
i am having trouble getting it to pick up and feed the substrates. it won't feed at all. i've cleaned the drawers with compressed air and it fed 27 sheets and quit again. i have all the correct parameters for the substrate set correctly. can anyone point me in the right direction?
it's very dirty inside--last company that had it didn't take care of it. according to the specs it should be able to handle the substrate im trying to print on.

my advice about the 5000, it sucks. it is more counterproductive than anything. too much maintenance, might as well just print offset or buy the latest and greatest.
hp has been great so far but i am way disappointed in the 5000. we've had it for a week and ive managed to print 27 sheets. error this error that, it needs to be babied too much. i was told the technology is at least 10 years old. i don't know why our company purchased this.

if anyone has a clue of what i can check in the drawers to get it to feed paper let me know.

grainy prints on 5000

grainy prints on 5000

what can i do if the a 66% black screen is printing grainy on the 5000?
i've rasterized the file in hopes that would do the trick, but no.
i think the bids are causing the long streaks, but what about the graininess?

We have a Quickmaster DI Pro, plus a Indigo 5500 and 7000. I have been an operator on all three currently operator on the 5500 and 7000 and I will take them any down hands down without a doubt over QM DI pro on qaulity and ease of use. We picked up an old QM single color press cleaned it up real well and use it for nothing but sapphire treating paper. We also use Indigo printed materails for mailing jobs and on the the two easy mailer machines with no coating on them and we haven't had an complaints from our customers. I work for AccuLink in Greenville, NC and the Indigo stuff works great with our Scodix 3D UV machine which I'm also an operator on
