I'm thinking about a 10010 to replace either my Iridesse or one of my 3100's any thoughts?

I service them, got an imagepress 10000 with 29.5 million, an 8000 with over 24 million, an 8000 with over 8 million, and another with only around 6 million. They are pretty reliable. The 10010 should be even more so since updates that the 10000 got would be incorporated into it

if you are printing basic good old color junks then go with canon
if you want quality and specialty colors and being able to print on specialty stocks you go with xerox
also canons are dirt cheap as far as price compared to xerox

It's comments like this that really don't help people coming onto a professional forum for research and seeking unbiased pre-purchase advice.
Of course, most of the regulars on here will roll their eyes at the above, bored by the regular attempts to sell/advertise used Xeroxes via forum introductions. However for every 'regular' there are 20 - 30 guests browsing the forum...

FWIW, any modern press by the 'big four' - Canon, Xerox, KM & Ricoh (+Heidelberg re-badged Ricoh's) - are very capable and worthy of consideration. As has been said many times before, the deciding factor is not the brand, but the support in your vicinity, the CPC contract offered, your existing familiarity with a particular workflow, etc. Please let's keep it real.
