Ricoh consumable shortages?

I have a Xerox Versant 3100 nearing the end of its lease. I'm looking to upgrade and switch vendors due to toner and drum supply issues, with a Ricoh 9200 being at the top of my list. Has Ricoh maintained reliable drum, toner, and replacement parts in 2021 for those of you in North America with 7200s and 9200s?

I've heard supplies are great, new machine installs, not so much. Evidently many machine stuck in a container in California. I've had a Ricoh 7210X on order since September.

I also have a 7210x on order since September, though I pretty much expected I would be lucky to see it before January. That’s pretty much buying anything that needs imported at the moment.

What are they telling you in terms of delivery? They told me by first week of December.

We have a couple 72xx machines and supplies haven't wavered the past few years. Everything is good.

I can't speak to the 7200 and 9200, but we have an 8100 and an 8320. We do not have any issues getting toner or other supplies for the 8100. But the 8320 is another matter. Either the ordering sites says we can't order any, but will let us with a "reason". And then it says it will ship shortly. I check the site a couple of days later and the order is delayed for like 2 weeks. Very frustrating. I usually have to contact our sales person about the issue, and they find us a couple of toners to hold us over. It has happened both times I've ordered toner so far. We just got this 8320 new, and the install wasn't smooth either. Some miscommunication between sales and us and our expectations.

I have been OK with supplies for my 7200 and 7100. No chip in the toner on Ricoh's probably helped a lot.

They have suggested early December but haven’t given me a firm date. As I have a competitive machine that is falling off lease, today is roughly the last day I could tell them to cancel service to provide the mandatory 30 days notice, I am assuming that I am stuck with the competitive machine until January at this point. I would like to believe early December but because they are unwilling to make a promise for understandable reasons then I have to err on the side of caution, as the competitive printer is our only printer I can’t risk leaving us without a printer. I am sure if they had information showing it would definitely be here soon they would tell me, as that’s a sooner date that we start paying the bill.

We've got a 7210, x2 9110's, an 8220 and an 8320. I haven't had any issues getting supplies except currently the 8320 toner is on backorder. The main issue I've is getting our reorder levels worked out so that they will actually let me order toner. A good sales rep can take care of that easily though.

Well I just got told Mid-January from my dealer. It has moved from last week in October, to November 15th, to December 8th to now Mid-January.

Yeah, they still haven’t tried to promise anything yet for me. I was told that the accessories were ready but the main unit was the holdup, so I doubt we will see it this year. We also bought a duplo booklet maker, this has been at the port for the last two weeks, I expect I am still at least 2-3 more weeks from that making its way to us.

What I have been seeing is not that people are out but they are close and the toner seems to come just in time. I think they are used to having a much larger buffer on the shelf.

If I have 2 toners sitting on the shelf and I am waiting for an order to come in that is backordered I am freaking out, especially when I have to put that 2nd toner in the machine and only 1 is sitting on the shelf and I know some heavy coverage jobs are right around the corner.

Contact your sales person and see what they can do for you. That is what I have done, and they have always come through.
