Versant V-180 Heat Cover on Fuser

Strange question.
But has anyone else had the heat cover on the fuser break off for no reason.
The 3 screws that hold it in place where still there, but the mounts are all melted and cracked.
They of course fell into the fuser and caused a stop error.
I've cleaned everything out, and while I was there replaced both wicks soaked well in oil and cleaned off excess.
Replaced Slip Sheet and Heat Belt.
Unit runs at normal Transfer heat, only had to tweak that once last year for a small job but set it back to normal after the job.

So, my question is if I place the cover back using only the clips on the bottom will it transfer heat effectively.
Has anyone run one with this problem?
I can't find anyone who has one that's not broken.
Seems only option is to buy an entire fuser assembly.

While I've had a myriad of issues with a Versant paper path, this is not one that I've had!

Partsdrop.com might sell you just the cover. Call and ask...

Thanks
I did talk to them and unfortunately, they were out of stock.
After looking at the suggestion from adriansto, I went ahead and machined 3 spacers and screed the cover back down.
Works great..
