Intec SC6500

We recently purchased an Intec SC6500 die cutter with the Colorcut pro stand for our office. We are still on the learning curve on how to operate the machine. I was able to get only a handful of basic cut projects out for clients, however, it stopped being able to find the targets. I am getting an "origin target not found" error on my colorcut program. I am not entirely versed on how to operate the machine and now can't get a single cut out to register. I'm thinking the camera is no longer able to the see pagemarks and needs to calibrate. Can someone give me a push in the right direction on how to calibrate before I have to throw in the towel and call a tech to come out for instructions? Thanks in advance.

We have one. It sounds like you're files aren't setup correctly. You always need to make the artboard landscape in illustrator before adding the QR code and marks.

Whoever sold it to you should have come out and trained you. The manual is pretty helpful though, are you sure your registration marks are in the correct location according to the specs? The marks need to be 12.5mm from each edge. Make sure your paper size is set correctly, and be sure your paper orientation is set properly. You might accidentally have it set to landscape instead of portrait. We've had ours for about 9 months and it was a bit of a learning curve for pressure settings, but we rarely have any issues with registration detection unless it's dark or color media.

No you don't. We do portrait all the time without issue.

Edit: don't mean to argue, just wanted to clarify is all.

I was working on a file that I had previously printed. It was a reorder for a client. I was able to run the job with no issues 2 weeks ago. I sent my file back to reprint with the original QR code and pagemarks but it is not seeing the marks.

Have you tried restarting the machine? Also, have you tried manually inputting the QR code number to make sure the file comes up on the program? At one point, our system suddenly made a new folder for itself to store the jobs, and it could not find all of the old jobs. If you can see the job pull up, then run it without the machine reading the QR code and only reading the registration marks.

Also, make sure the page size in the software is set correctly...we often switch between 11x17, 12x18...and if you don't tell the software you've loaded a different size, then the camera doesn't know where to look. Furthermore, you need to make sure the dimensions on the software side are entered in the correct order (18x12 instead of 12x18 for example)

We did have a short training session, however, it seemed the tech who was training was learning about the machine at the same time. I'm not 100% sure that he was completely knowledgeable on the machine and it was more relaying information from another person on the other line of the phone. I was able to get the basics and the manual he had me take a look at was for a different model (SC7000) versus the one we purchased. I was able to find a users manual for my version after he left, and have been working on the readup of the software. Unfortunately I haven't found very much operational videos of how to properly set up files in the Color Cut Pro program.

Thank you! As it turns out... this was the case. I had the page sizes swapped and it didnt' see the correct layout. Also, I realized it has a harder time running 13 x 19 as the page weight pulls forward and can't has a hard time reading #3 and #4 marks. I had to makeshift a slightly longer exit to hold the sheet size up so it can scan the dots.
