So how are you going to linearize the printer from within the programs? You will need a RIP to compensate for your printers inability to remain in the exact colorspace from day to day. Without that the above question does not even apply!

Did you copy all the media profiles from the PC version where it was originally installed? Was the program installed somewhere else? Has the printer been linearized? Need more information really.

OK it looks like Prinergy 5 so I am going to try and remember. Do a screen capture on all the settings pertaining to that press conection. Then simply delete it and add a new press. Be sure you have the correct IP address of the press before proceeding. the 192.xxx.x.x address is an internal IP...

I could be wrong here as I havent used v3 in a while but dont you need to "print" the preps imposition file and then import it, then populate the layout through the Prinergy console?

I see the future of prepress manager gets stumped, so like everything else they google it. If and when they got no answer they go to one of the prepress forums, at this stage you may need someone to vpn in and work on the system. Of course this may cost money. End of story.

When you launch Preps 5.3 you should be doing it through Prinergy. Instead of just clicking on Preps on a mac. I think it is up top on the Prinergy menuthat says configure Imposition Plrogram or Launch Imposition Program. Its been a while.

If your preps is set up on the prinergy server then you are half way there. You probably run prinergy seperate from preps. However if you have it set up to launch within prinergy then it already resides on a pc.

Sounds like a great setup in your estimation how far is it out of registration on the back up?

The problem with upgrading to Prinergy 5.2..... is you have to upgrade to Preps 6. This is a serious upgrade so if you have a stable of version 5.3 users to retrain you better plan on some down time as well as training Kodak style $$$$$$. I am sure the people who use Preps 6 will have some...
