    Well the problem was fixed just by changing to another drum of satin coating, I don't understand why that had anything to do with the second side but it took care of the problem.. Thanks for all you suggestions.

    wow id like to have 2 to 3 hours to make ready time! I make ready on a 4 color job in 30 mins thats from bending the plates to having my first sheet singed to start running if its a 6 color job its about 45 mins. my press doese not have any fancy extras, i have a consol and i hang plates...

    we run strike through varnish all the time, we run it just like any other varnish. we run it in line with gloss coating. we take the job and back it up right away with no problems

    ink buildup on coating blanket

    i had the same problem i could not get more than 1500 impressions before ink started building on the blanket i fixed the problem by wiping it with clorox before starting the run. i have gotten 100,000 impressions and no signs of ink build up.

    should metalics run first or last?

    when you run metalics that are over printing process is it better to put them down first or last. the metalic has to trap with the process, and does it make a difference if the process coverage is heavy or a light 4-color screan. thank you for the help.

    I don't know if you have heard of a presswash called explorer-alpha 8 is really good it is not oily so you don't have to rinse with water just wash and ink up, you wont notice any residu on the first pull. it cost about $22.00 a gallon the only bad thing is thats a little hard to wash fountains...

    I am using prisco 3451u fountain solution 3oz. to a gallon and alkaless 3000 2oz. to a gallon. When I run metallic inks they take a long time to clean up on the plate when I first start up.
