    Blade cleaning EBA 551

Hi there. I'm used to larger guillotines than this little EBA. I cut quite a bit of self adhesive. There doesn't seem to be any way to clean the blade other than removing the whole blade. (as in doing a blade change). As you can image this is a real pain when the blade doesn't need changing. It...

    Fiery Command Workstation Crashing

Thanks Toby, I don't actually mind going one OS back on the Mac. I just didn't want the hassle if it didn't make any difference. If VMWare Fusion is cheap, it might be the way to go.

    Fiery Command Workstation Crashing

Hi there. "Well... this is awkward" Bloody hell it is! Is it a coincidence? CWS seems to be crashing heaps since I have upgraded my Mac OS Cws 6.5.0.56. OS now Sonoma 14.3.1. Didn't want to go to the hassle of doing a roll back if it's nothing to do with it. Help much appreciated. ta Simon

    Fiery replacement

Hi Josh. Yep, it had a leaf shape (I think her name was Tara). Good thinking about the rip. Conveniently put it behind a door:-) Xerox used to be a bit funny about these things hoping Fuji film might be better.

    Fiery replacement

Good to know Philip. I'll have to check I have an actual licence. I never personally purchase one as it came with the V2100. You can never assume these things. ta Simon

    Fiery replacement

I'm upgradinging my box. Old v2100 to not quite so old V3100i. Issue is- The front end is no longer going to be a Fiery. Sorry can't remember what's its called CX ? something like that?. (I'm guessing Fuji film/fuji Xerox had a falling out with Fiery). Anyway! Looking at getting a Duplo DC-618...

    Duplo DC-646 v Duplo DC-618

Yes it does make sense for most digital print shops. I guess it depends a lot on the type of work you do and the skill level of your staff. If you already have a good guillotine operator on board who needs to be kept busy. Fyi. Myself and my ace guillotine operator can trim x250 bcards in...

    Duplo DC-646 v Duplo DC-618

Yes I find the ROI on a DC618 (or similar) hard to work out. I often hear printers justify the purchase after its done (no one likes to think they may have made a mistake). A common theme is- you can just set up and leave it to work itsself (there by freeing a staff member to do something else)...

Used Xerox strategy - Color 1000i

My ears are burning:-). Yes the v4100 never came here. I'm always blown away by the number of clicks you guys throw around. In a country of only 5million not many printers' average much more than about 150k SRA3 colour per month and most would be less than 1/2 this.

Fuji Xerox v3100i verse Km C4070

Yes I do change the 2nd BTR myself. The only issue is getting them. As fuji don't treat these as a consumable mostly the tech has to physically drop off. Don't get me started on keeping a spear one in stock. I made the mistake of letting the tech see that I had one a while back, you should have...

Fuji Xerox v3100i verse Km C4070

Averaging about 45k a month. On the whole I have been reasonably happy with my v2100. The only real issue in the number of "BTR" I go through. (2-3 per month). I'm hoping they have fixed this problem with the v3100i. My philosophy with purchasing digital press's has always been better a 2year...

Fuji Xerox v3100i verse Km C4070

yes. but relatively small in the market. (concerns regarding service). My gut feeling is the c4070 is a low mid range machine while the v3100i is high mid range machine (if this makes sense). Anyone out there correct me if I'm wrong.

Fuji Xerox v3100i verse Km C4070

Hi there. I have posted this previously, but I thought I'd open up again as it's getting very close to crunch time. For the sake of this discussion let's assume service is the same on both. Which machine is better? - Consistent registration. Colour consistency. Rolling good solids. Ease of...

    Cutting - BEST PRACTICES

thanks Jacob. from what I have googled the 618 is quite a shift up from the 616, now if I can just find one at a reasonable price:-) also the Duplo seems like a better machine than the Aerocut. ta Simon

    Cutting - BEST PRACTICES

Hi there. Interested to know on your thoughts on a Duplo 618 verse a conventional guillotine. I realise there is a place for both. I have a resonabley good Guillotine (programmable, air bed etc...). The feedback I'm getting is for certain jobs eg x21 up B/cards. x6 up DLs etc. the Duplo will...
