    drying problem. still.

Is your fount solution called "solar fount", sort of dark green? We run that fount with hostmann steinberg "impression" series ink and have had problems with drying on certain stocks(matte, but only one brand of paper) and one issue with a job that was cut, folded then sent away to be inserted...

    Starting a new company

What goes down, must come up... new twist on an old theme.. my point being that the economic clime will begin to come good, and at the end of the day some of the fat has been cut, and inefficient companies will be gone. If you decide to go into running your own company go in with your eyes open...

Global warming - the other side of the argument

Deeply deeply cynical these days... just another way to deepen the political trough for the snouts of our "leaders"

    CCCTV in the workplace

That was a long time ago, some time in the 70s... and i would think that the law has been since changed, but thats the way the federal police rolled back then...

    CCCTV in the workplace

I see management's side of this too, but think that the issues that staff have could be erased or minimised by simple communication between staff and management! I have heard several "disgruntled employee" horror stories too, and know that a very expensive piece of capital investment can be...

    cured tinting problem

Komori's have quite a sensitive water pan alert, and an irritating bell that can go on for some time even tho the pan level appears to be fine by eye... so i can understand why the pressman acted the way he did...i have done the same thing myself! However he should perhaps have related the issue...

    Applying Pearl Text paper

they work fine on our 40 and 26 inch komori's, when you have some downtime get the operator to clean the clamps! its a pain in the ass but better than gettin punted onto a folder! Unscrew and soak each clamp, use scouring pads etc to get all the gunk off and ensure that nothing will foul the...

    Ryobi 3304 HA

Poly plates are fine to get a job to fit, just dont over-tighten the back edge or you will effectively stretch the image(if you are doin good jobs on the '46 you will understand this) The ryobi-matic dampening works fine, but needs to be maintained and have correct chemistry!!! When going to...

Color Management, Standard Densities, oh and some limitations

You are on the right track here!! listen to these guys they are spot on.. i simply cant abide "a thats good enough" attitude, but am well aware that ironside and gordo would get the better response from your team rather than my "send in the marines" call :) I think that perhaps your lack of...

Color Management, Standard Densities, oh and some limitations

Re press limitations Re press limitations Good answer Ironside, agreed on all points but you are probably more diplomatic than me!! My response would have been a little more along the lines of "shape up or ship out" to the press team.. im sorry but i have worked as a pressman for about 16yrs...

    Photorealistic Vector images

beautiful imagery...as i understand it these are illustrations rather than pics? the pic of the brass instrument(sorry failed music badly) is particularily brilliant, perfect light and contrast... the sort of imagery that, from a printer's point of view, encourages you to make that little bit of...
