    Converting to Destination in ID

If you know what you are doing that could of course be a good solution. I would say most people don't. At our printshop we are getting too many untagged or faulty converted PDF's that could result in bad looking print. So I think it's much better to teach the client's how to set up correct...

    Converting to Destination in ID

Im guessing that you are exporting to PDF/x4 in that case? You wouldn't want to loose any embedded ICC-profiles. We use both PDF/X4 and PDF/X1a depending on the output device/RIP. But in both cases it's really important NOT to turn Color Manangement off in Indesign.

    Converting to Destination in ID

Because if you let InDesign handles color it will save you a lot of time. You wouldn't have to manually convert all your images in Photoshop. If using the colormanagenet in InDesign it would result in a faster, better and more dynamic workflow. Example one: Lets say that you have designed a...

    Converting to Destination in ID

InDesign does what it's told to do. If you like to have a good and secure workflow you should get to know how Indesign handles color. First of all, do not turn the color management off, that won't make anything better. Instead learn how Indesign handles color and how to set up your color...

Best software for Eye One Pro 2?

Oh I didn't know about the X-rite Exact. It looks like a great tool. I have several instruments, Techkon SpectroDens, i1 Pro, i1 Pro 2, SpectroProofer. I haven't tried ColorThinkPro, just watched the videos and it looks like a great tool for color nerds like us. And if you would like to explain...

    Apogee Prepress Proofing

Here's a photo to illustrate my problem. To the left you can se the offset print and to the right is the proof. I know that many people think that this isn't a problem but we got a lot of high end customers that got high expectations. Anyoing since there is a solution in the GMG and EFI-rip...

    Apogee Prepress Proofing

Were did I say that I use "coated" typ stock for uncoated proofs? We are using a matte coated proofing paper such as EFI 9120XF. I don't think there is any uncoated proofing papers for Epson water based ink as far as I know.. (the link that you refering to is also matte coated). Please post an...

    Apogee Prepress Proofing

I've recently changed firm from a place were we used GMG ColorProof and EFI to make calibrated proofs on Epson-printers. Both GMG and EFI have an option to put "noise" in the print to simulate paper structure and screen of an offset print. This is a great feature espacially when you simulate...

Best software for Eye One Pro 2?

Great info Todd, I hope Xrite will release a feature like this in the next i1Profiler version. I hate when they stop supporting one feature thats not anywhere to be find in the new software... :(

Best software for Eye One Pro 2?

Thanks for your replys Stephen and Schnitzel. The ColorPort/Deltae solution is to slow for my porpouses and I wont get a grip around the SpectraShop interface (can I even convert to CMYK?). Im thinking of setting up an old PC or Mac with i1 Share if theres no good alternatives (but i1 Share...

Best software for Eye One Pro 2?

A few years back I used a software called "i1 Share" with my i1Pro. This was a great software for spot-measureing if you wanted a quick ∆E comparision or a value converted to a specific CMYK-profile. It seems like i1 Share isn't supported anymore and the latest version doesn't work on the new...

Problem with verifying IDEAlliance Strip with Fogra39L (i1Profiler)

Thanks, but i1Profiler don't want to accept my new reference file. I found the i1profiler reference-files and it's in XML-format. I don't think I can create this (see attached file): Sprend

Problem with verifying IDEAlliance Strip with Fogra39L (i1Profiler)

Well, since i1Profiler says: "The selected reference file does not include all colors found in the selected control wedge." I assume that the Fogra39L does not contain all CMYK values used in the IDEAlliance strip. I don't know how to create a new reference with my current software, could you...

Problem with verifying IDEAlliance Strip with Fogra39L (i1Profiler)

Agfa Apogee can hadle this but i1profiler can not. Can anyone compare the CMYK-values in the IDEAlliance ISO 12647-7_Control Strip 2009 and compare it to Fogra39L, too see which colors are missing? And there might even be a way to calculate the missing values and import a new reference file in...

Problem with verifying IDEAlliance Strip with Fogra39L (i1Profiler)

Hi, we are using the IDEAlliance ISO 12647-7_Control Strip 2009 for proofing in our Agfa Apogee Prepress workflow. Our printers are calibrated to match Fogra39 and Fogra47. When verifying the control strip with our Epson inline Spectroproofer there's no problem at all. But when I try to verify...

    GMG Ink Optimizer Issues

Im with Stephen on this one, please post som before/after PDF's with embedded profiles so we can have a look at it. It's most likely nothing wrong with the software, it sounds more like a setup problem or press calibration problem.

Acrobat XI (v 11.0.04) Major color issue

I've now tried the ColorFaker software and it looks like it fixes the issue. Follow this guide if you like to try it: Download http://github.com/iccir/ColorFaker Start Color Faker and switch it on (important that no Adobe Software is running at this time) - start Acrobat ... go back to Color...
