    Selecting DeviceN Pitstop Action

ABC, Thanks for the interest, but I did finally figure out rip settings that would work late last night. I am good to go.

    Selecting DeviceN Pitstop Action

They are 100% of all the colors. But as far as XMF is concerned they are not marks. They are just a page element. So it sees that 100% Black is on top of the other colors, so it chokes the colors underneath. I can't just turn this feature off, as I need it on for black text elsewhere on the page.

    Selecting DeviceN Pitstop Action

Thanks everyone, I did find a way to select the marks and change them to All color. However, I basically traded one issue for another. So maybe I am trying to fix the wrong thing. So let me explain what is going on and maybe someone out there can say "It would be easier if you would just do...

    Selecting DeviceN Pitstop Action

Region is out, as the files come in imposed sheet size, so the marks move based on trim size. Stroke weight might be an idea. Thanks

    Selecting DeviceN Pitstop Action

I have a customer sending me imposed files with marks. Normally I would be apposed to this, but they are doing all the cutting and folding, so I need to use their layout. The problem is the marks are coming in as DeviceN (SPOT + process colors) with varying number of components. I need an action...

    Vinyl for Xerox C1000

Hello all. I am trying to find a Xerox C1000 compatible Vinyl with Removable Adhesive. The Xerox Recommended Media List shows number 3R14629 for 12x18 sheets, but I am having a very hard time finding this paper, not to mention that I really need 13x19. All the paper we have tried so far does not...

    Xerox 1000i looking for clues

Turns out the auger for the black waste system was broken. Replacing it and the housing and drum finally fixed the black. However, it seems it caused a cascading failure for the other colors as well. We ended up changing the augers, housings, and drums on all the colors to get back into production.

    Xerox 1000i looking for clues

Thanks MailGuru, but that is not it. Stock does not matter. Tech seems to think it is the auger that pushes the toner into the housing. Seems it is packing the toner to tight and causing the housing to "jump" when it turns. He is just finishing up installing said auger, and replacing the housing...

    Xerox 1000i looking for clues

Yes, we have. The only thing that seems to make it go away is to replace the housing, but that only lasts for a day or so. Service came in yesterday afternoon and they are thinking it might be the auger that pushes the toner into the housing. New one coming in today.

    Xerox 1000i looking for clues

We seem to be having a recurring banding problem on one of our 1000i machines in the black. The bands are .25" apart. Service is telling me it has to be either the drum motor or the housing. Both of these have been replaced, twice. The last time only a couple of days ago, and now the problem is...

    PC partition on a Mac

I don't agree that Virtual Box is not great. I use it all day long on all 5 of my workstations with no problems at all. Never heard of CrossOver, so have never tried it, but I am dubious that it can run all windows programs with out having the windows os.

    Epson Stylus Pro 7900 problems . . . .

Actually, we had the same issue only with our 9900. We ended up ordering a print head from China direct and changing it ourselves, cost us about $600.00. Of course if something goes wrong, Epson service won't touch it.

    Inkjetters

Thanks for the tip. I had not gotten behind the machine as of yet, but I did ASSUME it would be a serial connection. I will be sure to check it out before I do anything.

    Inkjetters

Thanks, we already have them set up that way. As well as the only other box in the company that has to run XP for old software. I appreciate the concern.

    Inkjetters

That's about what I figured. I was asked if there would be any benefit to try and upgrade the software, but it does everything we want it to do now, so I will get get a couple of new boxes and install XP. Thanks

    Inkjetters

I currently have two inkjet systems for addressing my envelopes. One VidioJet 4320 and one MCS Imager. Both of these are currently running old software circa 2003 or so on Windows XP boxes. I am may need to replace the computers soon because of some hardware issues. Thought I would ask the brain...

    Variable Data Emails

Thanks everyone for the input. After looking at things this last weekend, I to have also come to the conclusion that I need to use an external expert for this type of thing. Currently I am favoring www.sendinblue.com but would be glad to take recommendations/reviews. This is not something we...

    Variable Data Emails

We currently use XmPie Desktop version to do all our VDP mailings, and it works great for the mailings that we do. However, we now have a customer that wants to send emails as well as postcards. These emails will need to swap out images, and maybe colors based on the data. Any suggestions on...

    C1000 heavy weight blotchy

Adjusting the 2nd Bias Transfer Roll setting on the paper to -50 did make it smooth. However, the color is now completely wrong. After learning about this setting, I am now wondering about my current method of calibration and color control. Although it seems to have worked for the past 4 years...
