I work for a flexo company and we are G7 certified on one press using a certain substrate and ink. Its not hard to get certified, just run some fingerprint charts send them in and they will tell you what tweaks need to be made and then rerun after tweaks are made. I am not sure what EG Flexo means.

I work in labels and packaging. I like the challenge and we are constantly running R&D jobs to see if different techniques will work. My favorite packaging is shrink film, always cool to distort all the art to fit the bottles and see how it turns out once it is shrunk on.

I have to open all PDF files in Illustrator because I use Esko Deskpak (basically Illustrator Plug ins). What is the big deal about opening PDF file in Illustrator? I don't have any issues doing this.

I work at a flexo shop and use Esko to create my plate files. The guy from Esko who trained me told me to use circular euclidean dots when creating plate files, I am not sure why though. Either way, I have not had any problems using it at this point and its been about 6 years.

So I got it to work by combining the suggestions from everyone. I made the grayscale image a multichannel and added the three blank channels and then converted to CMYK. Then when I pasted into the 4cp document it kept going behind the existing background so I pasted the image in the channels...

No I am not able to delete the CMY channels from the file I am pasting it into, There are CMYK elements in the file that need to print.

Hi, We do all of our shrink printing on our P7 with UV-shrink inks. We don't even try with water based inks because of the drying issue. Is there a reason you can't print using UV inks? Molly

It is a 29% screen and it is touching trapped areas and there is a black drop shadow over the screen also. It cannot be reversed out. I think I will jet use the cyan screen since it has a value of 46% and it is the least prominent. Thanks for the info!
