Is anyone out there using the Digi-Nip device to set the roller nips on their presses. I know Heidelberg is using it when they set up new presses and supposedly it cuts down the roller striping time by 50%. I am looking at buying one but at $2300 I want to make sure its worth the investment.

We are a G7 master printer and use VanSon VS3 inks. Very high quality, laser safe after 72 hours and can be laminated or UV coated with no problems. Most if not all of the major ink manufacturers will have an ink that fit your criteria.

In your user account settings, make sure you select "allow supporting programs". Hopefully that takes care of it.

As far as I know Rampage only supports the 8400 and 6400 from Canon and it takes Rampage 10.6 and later to drive them as far as I know.

What makes Adobe Print Engine so much better then Rampages "Pdf Trap Engine"? They both rip & trap un-flattened pdfs. Rampage can take pdf in and go trapped pdf out. What's the difference?

I always do it in a darkened room. It is not looking for a black tile. When it asks for the black cal, just depress the device as though you were reading the white tile but do it while holding it in the air in a darkened room. Thats what the book says and thats what I have always done and it works.

Had one for 8 months now. Love it. We use VanSon inks and their database is the most accurate out there. They are constantly getting feedback from the field on the formulas and update their database several times a year. We have virtually eliminated old unused inks sitting around on the shelf.

You lost a laser diode. The platesetter will continue to function but you will need a tech to come in and replace the diode.
