May I ask, do you work for Ricoh or its subsidiaries?

KM C3080 vs VERSANT 180 vs RICOH 7200 vs CANON C910 vs KM C83HC

Just curious, anyone can explain why larger drums would render better solids on linens? I was under the impression that switching to AC instead of DC in their image transfer is the reason why they improved their linens...

    Iridesse Problems

Well, that's a serious understatement. Sure, it looks the same, roughly speaking, from outside. But its way sharper for one thing. More consistent on solids. More matte. More more more. You gotta put it through its paces and then you'll see its value.

    Xerox Versant 180 mottling

Set the stock to 300 gsm, create a custom paper setting, set the transfer, and you're good in most case to run alignments thereafter. For mottle, you'll want to look at image transfer and possibly the primary transfer (last screen in custom paper settings options). Put your stock under a...

    Iridesse Problems

About the alignment, can you post a picture of the options you set? Because if you leave them at 1 instead of, say, 10, those sheet come out pretty blank, and that'll be quite different than if you set those two to 10 and run a high coverage job thereafter. More toner, more shrinkage.

    More V180 problems

That's easy... with respect, didn't you get training from your analyst? Under Image tab -> Edge Enhancement section -> set Trail Edge Compensation to 3.

What Printer Works for MY needs? Need Help Deciding

I would recommend a used Xerox 570 or C60 with a service maintenance contract. If there's a Fiery on it I would go for it. That would be the bare, bare minimum that would do what you want well, consistently and generally above expectations (waterproof paper, magnets, labels, 12-14pts, etc.) I do...

    Versant 180 or Accuriopress 3070

Xerox Versant 80 - How to achieve good solids on a 640mm Long Sheet

Create a stock for it and run the images transfer on a 11x17 of that stock at 220 gsm uncoated. Then create your 26" stock and assign the same uncoated 220 and those image transfer numbers. Voila!

Glow in the Dark Substrates for Versant 180?

You'd be looking at a poly based (NeverTear like) paper that had the glow-in-the-dark powder mixed in at creation. I'll Google it too! Something like that? https://www.papilio.com/laser%20glow%20in%20the%20dark%20media.html

    Xerox Versant 180

Hi, Non digitally certified envelopes will run fine but crinkle a little bit: so the thicker plastic of the 'digitally certified' ones prevents any crinkling at all. I've printed thousands of envelopes without a jam. Smallest one is #8 and they most often than not duplex fine at that (though...

In house press: Versant 180, Versant 80, or c70

The 2nd BTR problem they refer to is not something that affects all stocks and has been mostly fixed by the addition of a fly wheel years ago. I would welcome a private email and a test file to print on a 180 and a 3100 to test honestly.

Trouble color matching blues & purples - offset CMYK, G7 methodology, GRACoL 2013

Maybe I misread somewhere, but let me ask you this... Is your designer set in SWOP v2 or GRACoL 2013 in their design apps? Is you offset press trying to match SWOP v2 (or other than GRACoL 2013)? If your file is built with CMYK images in a software whose color space is SWOP then unless those...

    Ricoh C9200+C7200 v Xerox Iridesse

The proof is in the pudding. Do serious research. Visit a few customers that have had the machines for a while. Ask about SLAs to existing customers. Ask to run thousands of sheets to stress test the machine. Bring hard jobs. To me quality of service and total uptime will far outweight bells and...

    light production printers

Sure, all of the vendors today will give you great image quality. Ricoh has bells and whistles with neon pink and what not, KM has a rather dubious inline IQ system (get the details and it turns out to be much less enchanting and more demanding than it youtubes itself), and Xerox has their 10bit...

iGen150 Quality Issues from Fusion VDP

So many things... first off, a properly color managed iGen running on decent stock and operated by a trained operator has truly remarkable IQ and will print non stop until hell freezes over. What's the stock? Did you run CMT? Did you profile? How often do you run CMT? What is the temperature /...
