    Digital printing machine

you should be able to afford a used Konica Minolta 6500 or Xerox 252 for that price. If you're going to get a used one, make sure it's on a service contract and be sure to have it moved and checked on the spot by the techs.

"ProfitAccelerator" by xerox. Is it worth looking into?

I've remember talking to a Xerox rep about this, but i didn't quite get the whole idea. I went on to buy another unit, but somehow i stumbled into this on the net again and I was wondering if any of you have used it? what's it about? is it worth looking into?

Digital Press / Printer for samples?

one more thing. If you're going for the OKI, don't bother getting the more expensive ones. I have a C9800 and it prints the same as my c9650. There are more options in the C9800, but you won't really need them. The finisher isn't worth buying and you probably won't need the additional trays. The...

Digital Press / Printer for samples?

try the OKI range. Depending on where you are located, you should be able to find an affordable OKI C9600. If you're going for a used one, be sure to test it out first before buying. New ones aren't that expensive and the quality should be good enough for samples. The price per print is a bit...

opinions on DUPLO Docucutter DC-545 ?

thanks for your long description jotterpinky. The thing is, I was looking at the dc-545 before, but now I can afford to get the 615, however from what you've written it seems like it's not worth the trouble. I have quite a lot of curling on prints from my digital press (it's a Toshiba 5520C, so...

cool marketing ideas for a digital print company?

yes, this is the kind of stuff I'm looking for. I have takem some advice from sales reps but I figured the best info would come from actual users that are willing to exchange ideas. Anyway, I've found some cool things on the board, I was just hoping to get some more :)

cool marketing ideas for a digital print company?

I'm not looking for a single advertising medium, gimmick or magic bullet to get customers. I have quite a solid customer base, but I want to get them more informed on the capabilities of digital print, VDP etc. To do that, I think it's best to demonstrate at least a fragment of what's possible...

cool marketing ideas for a digital print company?

that might be an option. I liked the idea with the custom made maps, so I though that maybe there are other fairly simple tricks that people here have been using to surprise their clients :)

cool marketing ideas for a digital print company?

no one is willing to share some ideas ? :) what I'm looking for is basically to get more local companies interested in doing business. Any input on this is welcome :) a lot of the time, clients don't even realise what they can order and how they can benefit their business from our offer. So...

LG or SG for better registration?

thanks for all the answers :) I'm imposing jobs in ID, but measuring the differential won't really do the job here because the prints aren't all moving the same usually. On some sheets it's a bit to one side, on others it's a bit above or below. There's also a little skew on some jobs, so it...

LG or SG for better registration?

I'm experimenting with the registration on SRA3 size paper using the bypass feeder. My printer is a Toshiba 5520C and it's been ok for the jobs I've been giving it. However the front to back registration is pretty bad even on lighter stock. Have you guys had better front to back registration...

Any experience running 9x12 envelopes digitally?

I do them on my Oki C9800 and C9650 without major problems. I just had to experiment a little with which ones it works best on.

What digital equipment would you recommend?

from what I've seen, the quality is good. You would have to check it out yourself, to see if it suits your needs. if you're on a full contract the parts are included, so you don't have to worry about that.

    plockmatic 310 bookletmaker

thanks for your help. We might not have enough spare cash at the moment for a suction-feed collator, because I've been really trying to pick up the digital printing we do here. However I'll give it a thought.

    plockmatic 310 bookletmaker

stocks would be around 130-200gsm, coated and uncoated. average run length: 8000-10 000 catalogues (36 pages each) finishing process: mainly bookletmaking thanks for your help :)

    plockmatic 310 bookletmaker

yes, it's a used machine. Are these limitations enough to disqualify it?

    plockmatic 310 bookletmaker

I'm considering getting this unit for our offset department. Is it any good for the price range? I know it's more of an entry model piece of equipment, but from looking at the specs, it would be enough for the jobs we do.
