So, an InDesign doc that's CS6 but is generated from the CC version will have the identifier of CS7? Could always have them save back the .idml version, but that's a whole other dangerous game.

Huh, maybe we've dodged the bullet then! Scary to think there are 2 types of CS6 files running around & no way to tell which is which.

I'd be very interested to know where that upgrade path is on the Adobe site! We have 3 workstations and can't justify the $600+ to upgrade the last one that's stuck on 5.5 since it was a standalone install and needs its own upgrade serial.

You shouldn't, CS6 is still the current version even with a Cloud subscription. When Ver7 drops however. . .

Yeah, I give that about 2-3 months be fore they realize how how horrible those apps have become. Only time will tell, of course.

These rules don't apply to sales people right? Because most of the emails I've been subjected to from that side are damn near incomprehensible and many look like they're written by a Kindergarten child. It's embarrassing to imagine what clients think of a company based on those emails. :eek:

Yeah, looks pretty horrible here too, on even a barely calibrated monitor. That image is pixellated like crazy! It's been compressed at some point, unless you want to get creative with the Brush in Photoshop, it's not going to get any better.

I'd certainly hope that hardware has improved in - 5 1/2 years!! :p

That depends greatly on the sales force. I had one of ours tell me not too long ago that he was "Happy with his number of clients and not actively seeking any more" because, it seemed to me, he just didn't want to work any harder. Don't most of them work on commission? Maybe he's got a rich...

Dropped a new magenta drum in - running like a champ! Kind of troubling, since the drum that was in there had like 52% life left on it, hope this isn't a common occurrence.

If it were me, and I could do an end-around the sales bozos, I'd let the client know that the machine just has limitations & either ask them to adjust the logo, or see if it's permissible for you to do it & show them a proof before running the whole job. I know, that sounds a lot like common...
