How do you stay in business with down time

Remember the DC12??? We've still got one!!!!! It's more of a backup machine these days, but it still gets used a few times a week. Digital machines are a pain sometimes, but then I've also had many 'moments' with our AB Dick. I really don't think I could operate with only one digital machine...

    Calibrating a Xerox DC5252?

Thanks everyone for your replies. I kinda suspected that the 5252 would require calibrating, but did not want to have the expense of buying a Spectrophotomer or anything. My 5252 does have a scanner, but it never gets used. I have now spoken to my dealer who has agreed that it should be...

    Calibrating a Xerox DC5252?

Hi We have a Xerox DC250 on contract with Xerox, which we calibrate with Colorcal, and it runs fine. Due to workloads however we have just added a DC5252 which is under a contract with a private dealer. The company who are supplying the DC5252 say it does not need calibrating as it has an...

    2D Barcodes

We printed some of these on our Xerox DC250 a few weeks ago. Client had business cards and leaflets with the barcodes on. We ran a test print first for the client to test scan, and then just ran the job. All worked perfectly.

Need help with business start up!

Not sure about where you are, but here in the UK, almost all funeral directors have relationships with printers, and they arrange these cards as part of the 'package'. We are a digital printers and have tried in the past to build relationships with funeral directors to provide this service. but...

    Suggestions for in-office digital press

Agree with Josh. Not only the press, but the cutter, staff with skills, wastage, etc. At that quantity I would have thought farming out was the best way forward. Having said that, if you do really want to bring it in house I would avoid the Xante / OKI based machines. We got rid of one...

    imposition software

If you are looking for some basic imposition software and willing to try some alternatives, I can whole heartedly recommend CutePDF Professional. New guy, AB Dick 360 question(s)

Yes, avoid oil based on this machine if possible. Rubber based runs much better in my experience.

    Service contracts for digital presses.

Depends on your usage - ie are you pay for print? Several years ago I was running 3 Ricoh machines with no service contract. Constantly had problems with machines being down as all the engineers prioritised contract customers, and charged a fortune when they did come out. Also, my quality...

    DC250 pauses

Thanks all for your help. I think I have now resolved this issue by changing the Magenta drum as recommended by kalindd - thanks! It was the oldest of the drums, and by changing it the print speed seems to be back to normal, so fingers crossed. Never even considered that an old drum could...

    DC250 pauses

Many thanks for your help. It is 250 copies of the same 1 page file. What you say makes sense as it only does it on colour jobs, not black only ones. I will swap some drums and see what happens. Thanks again for your help Simon

    DC250 pauses

Hi, My DC250 has started to pause for about 5 seconds after every 5th sheet SRA3. I am not using complicated files, just basic compliment slips, so mainly text based. It never used to do this. It can make the printing quite slow going. Does anyone know if this could be a problem with the...

How to determine if a Xerox workcentre is a 7655, 7665 or 7675?

Sounds like it may have had a different cover on it at some point - much more likely than changing the digital details. Cover cracked, found a replacement from the same range, fitted.

    Opinions on a DC5252

OK, not much response on that one. Can anyone tell me where would a DC5252 come in the Xerox range compared to a DC250 - above or below in terms of performance for a print shop? Ta

    Opinions on a DC5252

Hi Just looking for peoples opinion on the DC5252 for a small printshop. Situation is, we are a small printshop in the UK (four employees) which is mainly digital (we have a single colour AB Dick, but avoid using it wherever possible!). We currently have a DC250 and a DC12 for our digital...
