Hi there, I believe embedding .cxf data in PDFs is still a work in progress with ISO / Ghent PDF group + all those other clever chaps that seems to take ages to agree on anything!, but is anybody currently embedding .cxf colour data within PDFs ? Thanks

Nearly all artwork for packaging, labels, cartons etc is done using Adobe Illustrator. Multi page leaflets are the exception as traditionally these are handled better in InDesign.

Am I right that Pixel+ is the same as Microcell but for finer screen ruling, microcell I believe is for corrugated ?

Do you believe Pixel+ really make that much difference if you already have HD flat top dot capability ?

Did somebody say 'wet proofing' ? if you are printing on analogue press you need analogue proof. I am now going to take cover and wait for the incoming barrage ;)

What happens when they are running Indichrome, CMYK Orange + Green etc ??

35% that must be a typo!, packaging gravure in general used to be 5% min dot, these days 3% with some outfits with the latest tech now holding 1%. If they can re-produce a CMYK image without the 35% restriction then why would it be different for a spot colour? Despite there merits right or...

Here is something I have been wondering which proofing devices could successfully produce an accurate proof for a extended gamut strategy using CMYK+Orange, green and violet ? Presumably a Epson 7900 would be ok for Orange + Green but wouldn't cut it for when Violet is used ?

It could be worse, try asking the same question on some of the Linkedin forums and see how many people chirp up offering their wares! ;)

I should point out we are convertor not a brand owner just in case there is any confusion. Either we sell Epson's too cheap or your paying too much or you getting through too many hard copy revisions!

Does anybody know if the Kodak Nexpress offline Glossing unit can work independently of a Nexpress ? I assuming it can do a flood coat but not spot and can it handle the other speciality varnishes pearlescent etc ?
