    Help with PDF

I hope you can help me with this. A book with photographs and watercolour illustrations to be printed on 280 x 210 mm format has been sent to the printer in PDF. The page trim area on all PDF's has been set to 200mm and the bleeds have been set to 2mm not 5mm. How can this be fixed? J

    What causes speckles?

Attached is a close-up photo of a press sheet (with a US 1 cent coin for scale). The press sheet has small speckles of the 4 process colors printing in the non-image area. I've seen this from time to time in other press sheets and was wondering what the cause might be. It is not one of my jobs...

    Dumb Illustrator question

I'm sure there's a simple answer to this - but I don't use Illustrator CS3 very often so I can't find it. I want to have a 100% Cyan square partially over print a 100% magenta square. How do I make it do that? "Overprint" seems only to apply to black and not other colors. Also, can I preview...

No equipment at Kodak Print 09

In a recent Kodak blog it appears confirmed that Kodak won't be having any equipment on their booth at Print 09. That will save them a great deal of money - but will it hinder their ability to promote their wares compared to competing vendors? Isn't one of the reasons you might attend a show...

Why are density values used for NPDC

This is probably a very dumb question but I'm very new to this and trying to understand. It seems that GRACoL 7 does away with solid ink density targets and replaces them with L*a*b* aim points. Why then are the NPDC aim points specified in density values and not L* values? thank you, John
