Why is the Konica $1/2 the xerox

To pay for the "speak fluent bullshit" course that all their sales reps have to attend prior to being let loose?

Winning a fight wit xerox - advice needed

Not a good recommendation for Xerox. If it was a car you would take it back or it would be re-called. Dont know the fine details of your case but it seems that Xerox have a responsibility to fix the situation. Xerox's name seems to come up a lot in cases like this.. Good luck - I hope you are...

Konica Minolta UK nasty business practices

This sickens me! The whole buying process of digital presses just smacks of corruption. The fact you have to negotiate tirelessly for the best price....click rate...blah blah blah, then there's the T&C's that have to be scanned with a fine tooth comb. Then there's the finance - another mine...

    The "Glossing" option on KM6501

Craig, generally the "flat" appearance is more desirable than than the overly glossy appearance on some presses (mentioning no names), but a "gentle sheen" on photographic images does enhance them (in my opinion). not gonna get drawn into the KM VS Xerox output argument (or perhaps i just have!) :D

    The "Glossing" option on KM6501

Thanks guys, Really useful feedback - and will try some of these tips out next week. We run the creo 304+ rip..so not sure how this effects things? Have been printing off some images on black Label Silk coated stock and even with the "glosser" on it was still producing a flat/matt appearance -...

    The "Glossing" option on KM6501

Any hints or tips on how to get the best "gloss" finish using the glossing option on the 6501. We switch it on and it doesnt seem to make that much difference to whens it off? Any help would be appreciated Thanks

    Km c8000

Im in a similar position...not sure whether to wait for the 8000.... I wonder if KM have any ambitions to upgrade the creo 304+ on the 6501 and maybe improve the screening again? The last upgrade took place nearly 2 years ago it would be a real bargain if they did..... Saw some work off a Xerox...

UV or not to UV - that is the question

Thanks guys, looks like we're not alone in the UK with our pricing issues....appreciate the feedback on the uv coaters - havent seen the Duplo unit yet so will check it out - just realised that i'll probably need a PUR to bind uv coated sheets...?

UV or not to UV - that is the question

Thanks Ifelton, Appreciate the advice - the Tec lighting looks a good little unit. Just need to see if it works with the wax-based toners. The USA/GB price thing does annoy me. It seems we are always charged more over here - I also feel that genrally most bits of digital kit are overpriced...

UV or not to UV - that is the question

Know there has been some previous recommendations ref UV coaters for digital sheetfed machines but there now seems to be a plethora of different machines out there and I wondered if anybody could recommend one from personal experience. I have details on the Drytac machines - which appear to be...

    The verdict? KM c8000 v Xerox 1000

Has anybody managed to ascertain the quality off these 2 machines? - the samples I got from Ipex looked good but were the standard "print friendly" images that manufacturers use to best show off the quality of their presses.

    The verdict? KM c8000 v Xerox 1000

Now the dust has settled from Ipex - just wondered what the genral concensus was? Does the Xerox justify its extra cost? if so where does it win out? Or does the KM punch above its weight and win the bout? Has anybody taken delivery of the KM? and if so hows it performing? Thoughts....

    MGI vs Indigo

I agree - the Xerox "oil slick / gloss" effect on some of their older machines isnt pleasing to the eye at all but its nice to be able to produce a satin or silk effect especially on photo work (not everything has to be matt) and when I saw the DP60 samples it was realy flat/matt and at that...

    MGI vs Indigo

Doesnt the DP60 use the consumable model? (no flat click charge) - in which case how can you ever accuratley price anything? Also from the samples i have seen - it produces a very Matt finish and cant physically produce a "gloss" effect unless of course you use a UV coater which adds additional...

"ProfitAccelerator" by xerox. Is it worth looking into?

it basically gives you case studies where digital print has been used successfully and profitably. What it doesnt take into account is the resources needed to persue these projects i.e. trained sales staff - sales staff that can solution sell...There are many areas in which digital can be...

    Fight of the century

Totally agree with Ifelton - digital isnt the most reliable of technologies and field testing is vital before they release them. Think this is where Canon suffered. Any comments on the quality between the 2 machines? I know its hard to gauge when they only use the standard - press friendly...

    Xerox Color 1000 Press

Well, had a glimpse of both the 1000 and the c8000 yesterday at Ipex but both were outputting the usual standard images that manufacturers use to show their presses off (cant blame them I suppose) and didnt really represent a true test of their output. The KM looks very good, the test prints...

    Km c8000

Dont hold me to this but I think it will simplex on 350gsm and duplex on 300gsm...I guess we wont know for definite until Ipex... I agree the bigger sheet size would be a winner...
