    Konica Minolta 6501

Ubertech, I have to have my 5 cents worth here... I've been reading numerous posts over the past year to do with the KM6500/6501 and I am horrified by the lack of understanding out there in the field. We have a 6500 + 6501, and have printed over 4 million clicks in just over 2 years, these are...

    MS Word Files Workflow

Pitstop is what we use for converting text in Office files from composite black to straight black. It's very simple to use (once you've learnt how it works - doesn't take long if you're already in repro), and normally makes changes very quickly, depending on the number of pages of course.

Halftone - Konica Minolta 6500 & Fiery RIP

No guys, not a scanned image!! I actually want a dot pattern because the fiery normally produces everything continuous tone, which for most things is fine, but when it comes to a large area of a tint (say 20% black) it looks crap! I can use a Dot 150 on my Xerox 5252 or Xerox 250 through the...

Anybody have any luck producing halftones on the KM6500 & Fiery? Either through the Graphics Arts Package or using third party software. I've tried using a third party RIP to create halftones but cannot get the frequency or screen angles right, keeps giving me a moire pattern. I'm trying to...

Going from offset/web prepress to digital printing

craig, you're absolutely right, gloss stock is not ideal on the KM6500! I mostly run coated stock (magno), 135gsm-350gsm, sheet size always 320x455mm. And quite interestingly, my customers have moved away from gloss to matt (coated) stock more and more over the last couple of years.

Going from offset/web prepress to digital printing

let me throw me 2 cents worth in here... we run 2 xerox and a KM6500, the KM has done over 2 million clicks in 16 months. We throw everything at it, from NCR paper to 350gsm coated matt! Sure it has it's moments, but on the whole it's our most continually productive machine we have. My next buy...

    konica 6500 -xerox 5000

when it comes to lamination, we've only had reliable results with prints off the KM6500, the Xerox 5252 and DC250 both had peeling issues. The ONLY way we could circumvent this was to outsource to a company that uses the new "digital friendly" (extra glue on the lamination) stuff - at 4 times...
