hmm.. our color management workflow.. PDFs sent to us are supposedly, CMYK print ready, using the standard GraCol2006 [from mostly Adobe InDesign], and our paper standard is white. am I making sense?

We just got a cute new igen4 diamond edition and was inquiring about what this paper option means, and if it's really needed. Whitepoint L * a * b Some people (that we have talked to) say it's needed, others are saying it's not, what's your conscience thought on this if you have an igen? =)

We just got a c60 (with an in-line fiery) installed replacing our dying 700 with a creo front end. Compared to the 700, the beast is slower. Quieter. It's more based off the 250 with 700 stuff and parts moved around (the decurler isn't next to the fuser anymore). We haven't done much to it yet...

I can't answer that :P it's between Xerox and Creo. Updates to Creo software is slow. We have a Creo on our 700, and there's been no talk about any updates. Support is .. as-is.

what Front end are you using? If you have Fiery RIP, you should be able to access the drivers from the Fiery's IP address. If you have a Creo, use the WIndows 2003 Server 64bit version from xerox website (should work) Oh, if you are not using any RIP engine, i see there's a 64bit Vista...

awesome! figured it out. when exporting to pdf, I forgot to unclick embed profile. haven't had to play with exporting pdfs for a long time, after reviewing the settings when matt asked about rendering intent, found the problem. thanks!

We use a 15 year old baum folder with 2 gates for up to tri-fold, and we got the pitstop mini creaser to crease before folding.. works wonders. definitely need to score some stocks before you fold depending on coverages as well.

Do note, when using a "Printer Driver" style document to PDF process, make sure you change "Use Device Fonts" to "Embed Fonts" in the Advanced Options so it may embed the non-copyrighted fonts. Usually by default it will be not embeded. This seems to be an issue primarily for Windows machines.

do you have custom profiles set for that type of stock? per advice from a technician is that some paper may need custom profiles to compensate. I know there's a skew option in the custom profiles, but i've never had to play with that setting at all.. we use 20# text weights all the way to 100#...

There is a height sensor, and a depth sensor. I don't think it counts (because when u pull X amount off the stack, the stacker will raise up to compensate) and the rating, per the xerox documentation, is based on 20# stock, We use hammermill 28# as the standard [xerox prefers impressions 24#]...

I've noticed the "Gloss Mark" option on the "Creo 700" we have for the Xerox 700 DCP machine... we were never shown how this option works.. does anyone know how this option works on the 700?
