    Horizon BQ 260 running cool

Hello all, Our perfect binder wont heat the glue above about 315 deg. F. All the relays and electrical stuff appears to function, but the machine turns off the heater too soon. I have considered the thermostat, but the drum heater shuts off early too,and it is controlled by a seperate sensor...

Problems with Presstek Freedom Pro plates

We did just upgrade to the Freedom. We discovered that the tinting problem was the platesetter, the mirrors were really dirty. Now they run fine. I agree with you, no matter what you put in the fountain solution, they run pretty much the same. I have run 4 color process, as well as spot...

I just started with the Freedom Plates, and i am having toning problems and screens plugging in. I run Van Son VS and VS3 inks. I have tried AB Dick pink fountain solution (10%) and Prime Sheetfed (2 oz/gal) with Green Diamond (3 oz/gal). No difference. The gripper edge of the plate tones...

    4 color start-up questions

I have often wondered this same thing. I start all 4 colors at once. I think it reduces waste and startup time, as you mentioned. Im curious to see other opinions as well.

    Ghosting in screen....

I have never run Crestlines, but what does the image on the blanket look like ? Is there a buildup of paper fibers, or anything ? Your form rollers may be picking up the stuff that has transfered from the blanket to the plate. just a thought, B

    Scoring on a GTO

Is it a perfector ? What rule are you using ?

    Scoring on a GTO

Turning drums is probably an outdated term. I guess nowadays transfer cylinders is a better one. When the sheet passes between the transfer cylinder and the impression cylinder, the 2 are so close together the rule slits the sheet. I am using a .029" rule. Since the 2 are so close, it does...

    Scoring on a GTO

All, I tried to score a job using Litho perf on our GTO52-4-p3 only to find that the turning drums are too close to the impression cylinders. The sheet ends up slit instead of scored. I am wondering if I change the perfecting jacket on the turning drum to a standard jacket, will i be able to...

Sakurai 272 EP II shuts down intermittently

I had a similar situation with a 272 EII. Sakurai had no answer except to start replacing boards. Is it hot in your shop when it shuts down ? We had some success pointing a fan into the control box. Other than that. try resetting any connectors to the boards in the control box.
