    did anyone get the 4080? we have a vendor trying to win our business -- good timing since the current vendor has been disappointing. The new vendor is recommending the 4080. We currently have Xerox v280 and v180.

    yes both were gotham book, but the return address was 18pt and recipient was 12pt. Please don't tell me that matters because I would be very displeased... also, it hadn't happened before, so...?

    is it possible that the postcards were fed upside-down into the OCR/whatever machine and the return address was read FIRST, but somehow the OCR recognized it 180* and read it "correctly"?

    thanks for your reply! Yes, error nothing below the recipient address no yeah, I've dealt with USPS for years and they've never showed the slightest amount of concern about anything.

    I printed 100 postcards for one of my agents with variable data... return address upper-left, recipient address in the middle of the card. Agent applied postage stamps then dropped them off at USPS. We received about 80 of them at my office with identical barcodes that USPS printed on them...

    tower is a dedicated rip for my v180, super fast (i now realize I was unclear in my OP, sorry!) v280 was purchased with a commodore 64 RIP ;) CWS is on my computer for both my local xerox has spent the last MONTH trying to troubleshoot and repair my v280, they just replaced the motherboard...

    We have a xerox v280 and a v180. Both have RIPs. The one on the v280 is a constant problem. The one on the v180, while older, is not only more reliable, but so much faster! is it possible to have the full-size tower computer run both printers?

    i've never had success unless I edge seal. If I i need flush, i have to go with a liquid lamination or UV or something, but have always had to send that to another vendor as I never had the volume for liquid lam but following as I'd like to learn more

    I love this idea, but definitely have multiple copies hidden away in case someone screws it up or it gets corrupted. I lose about one file EVERY month from ID crashing and corrupting a file. If anyone has many clients using the same materials with small changes... Something along OP lines...

    sounds like your stitching and folding in-line with your printer and will finish trim as last step? Any chance only the cover is full-bleed and guts are not? If so, I'd print covers separately, trim, then add them to the book in the bypass tray and let the printer finish the book... assuming...
