Partially die cut door hangers?

I'm going to have to order from them because I have no other choice, but since I do not have a guillotine, only a duplo, I really would prefer a head-to-foot template instead of blanksusa's foot-to-foot template as rotating half the door hangers after cutting is something I tried to avoid over the past two years despite zapco's poor QC and CS.

It seems like this is an ongoing issue for you...so you might consider getting your own die-cutter. We have this system which has a small footprint and relatively low cost for what it does. It is excellent for die-cutting and kiss cutting, not the best for creasing though (it uses a ball bearing to score, rather than a true crease). We have done a number of custom door hangers and this machine is very consistent sheet-to-sheet.

You should use your machine to perf 500 sheets and sell them to @YourCastle
 
Have sheets made to your specs: Find a good die cutting service. Buy the die. Send your own paper cut to your specs. Get the die back with your finished sheets and store it safely until the next order. Order enough to keep the cost reasonable. The savings in set-up and running time with a quality sheet will offset any difference in cost.

To this day I do not know why someone doesn't make a door hanger hole puncher.
We just need either a single or two part system. The two step system seems like it would be more successful.

  2. Then a similar style device but with a blade that makes a 45 degree angle slit.
  3. Even if the system only was able to punch 10-20 doorhangers at a time I'd still buy it because it would be easy enough to use vs. anything else for short run doorhangers.
Any entrepreneurs out there that have cnc mill type equipment could make that system and sell it to every digital print shop in the country. Note to the creepy China patent thieves: You can have my idea for free as long as you let me buy one from you for <$500

Unfortunately, die cutting or punching 10 pieces at a time would require a significant amount of pressure, like log splitter type of pressure. You could do one at a time in something like this Leather Cutter, but unless Hurcules works with you, you'd be limited to very small quantities.

The best option would be the system that jwheeler is using, load it and walk away. Plus it has multiple uses.

I built my own auto feed pneumatic die cutter for door hangers but I already had the Straight Shooter feeder and compressor. I have Apple Die make the dies and you could have one made for the manual leather cutter above if you don't mind doing one at a time.
 
You just need something like the leather cutter, and one of these. I've used these very successfully on an AB Dick, but they work just about anywhere you can get good even pressure. You could probably build something a bit more productive with off the shelf items to put the die on.
 
If that works, do magnetic rotary dies work on small ryobi presses?
Magnetic rotary dies are not magnetic themselves. The die cutter cylinder is magnetic. The adhesive dies noted above will work on small Ryobi presses. Do your layout on a mylar sheet with the die lines underneath. Then glue the mylar to the impression cylinder. You can do some very intricate slit and score work. I know someone who did a car that punched out of a kids book. Punch out, fold on scores, and tape to get the car. Start your layout at the gripper line and make sure it lines up with the lead edge of the mylar sheet.
