Acrobat 8 page scaling issue in print dialog

for some reason, Acrobat now defaults to "Shrink to Printable Area" for Page Scaling in the print dialog and also won't default to our advanced settings, which wasn't the case before. Any clue?

OS X 10.4.11

Acrobat remembers that last set of settings that you used...

Yeah, but wasn't doing that if Acrobat was restarted. I fixed it anyway. Something OS related. Deleting cache files/repairing permissions seemed to make it work again.
