Afinia CP950

Howdy All,

I work with an Afinia CP950 printer and I’m wondering if you have any advice for feeding #9 and #10 envelopes into the printer long edge first while maintaining good feed registration. When I feed these size envelopes into the printer long edge first I run into problems with crooked feeding. Short edge first with these size envelopes feeds ok.

Any advice?

jwheeler,

1. Long edge is faster/higher quantity per minute.
2. Long edge is necessary for a particular job I'm working on now. Printing on the front of the envelope as well as the flap. It will be more efficient if I could open the flaps and print on the front and the flap in one pass. Printing on #9 or #10 short edge first with the flap open doesn't work. Or, I can't get it to work correctly.

I realize it's not the answer you're looking for, but if short-edge prints straight and consistently, but a little slower, I'd go with that over the faster, crooked prints via long-edge. And I realize it would be a 2nd pass if you need to print on the flap. Hopefully someone can tell you the solution to do it via long-edge, but if short-edge works, you could already be halfway done with it by now instead of struggling to make it work that way you want. Also, consider how much time you'll spend opening and closing all of the flaps.
