Aluminum False Clamp

We just bought a Mohr 80 cutter and we love it. However, the false clamp is aluminum and my magnetic foam strips don't stick. I need them for cutting perfect bound books.
Any solutions?

Ran into this challenge at my old employer once. We ended up sticking a length of steel 2pt crease rule to the false clamp with a medium tack double-sided tape. Operator had to be careful that the rule didn't detach and get clamped/cut, but when we found the right double-sided tape it worked well with the magnetic foam.
