Ran into this challenge at my old employer once. We ended up sticking a length of steel 2pt crease rule to the false clamp with a medium tack double-sided tape. Operator had to be careful that the rule didn't detach and get clamped/cut, but when we found the right double-sided tape it worked well with the magnetic foam.
