Any pdf 2.0 viewer/reader within sight?

You need a design application to generate a PDF 2.0/PDF/X-6 file first!!

Fat chance of that happening anytime during this calendar year! It's more like a chicken and omelet problem. A major part of the problem is that none of the guilty party application developers really “get it” in terms of its importance to the print community (or necessarily even care about that community). 😧

IMHO - unless you have a workflow requirement to embed cXF data into your PDF files and then exchange them with some print service provider that can actually extract or process that cXF data, not seeing WHAT the urgency here is.

There are in fact other reasons to want / need PDF 2.0 and PDF/X-6 including official support on a per object basis if desired for Black Point Compensation, production metadata via DPart data, page level output intents that can override the document's output intent, etc.

The trouble of course is that unless you have all the ducks lined up including PDF creation (implying support in major graphics programs), PDF viewers, and appropriately updated RIPs/DFEs, this is in fact all irrelevant.
