Has anyone out there run into any strange problems with the Aurora Plates?
We hare running a Screen PlateRite 4300S with the single cassette autoloader. We have been using the Aurora plates now for about 4 months and we have run into several strange problems. At first the plates came to us cut to different sizes for each box (+/- 1 mm from the size we ordered). They are better now, but we still find that once in a while we have to re-set the plate size on the Screen machine. We have also had re-occurring problems with spotting on the press (the whole plate gets covered with hundreds of tiny spots). If we hand wash the plate and blanket, the spots will go away. This is a random thing and usually only when printing black ink on uncoated paper. The other issues are a row of missing dots across the short edge of the plate (in a different position on each plate), random blinding in small areas, and streaks in the image. These problems are very random and have shown up on all four of our presses.
