Batch Droplet for Acrobat 9

Afternoon all,

I've created a batch process running a few commands, security, watermarks etc. working with IN and OUT folders on my desktop. Does anyone know if I can make the IN folder into a droplet or Hot folder so as soon as a file is dropped in it will run the batch sequence.

Currently I'm testing this on my Mac book pro using OSX 10.5 but this will need to work on a PC running XP using Acrobat Pro (8 or 9)

Many thanks
Andy

You can use Preflight to create a Droplet (but not a hot folder). there are also a few 3rd parties that offer the ability to run Batches through HotFolders.

As was mentioned, droplets aren't cross platform (though batch sequences are!).

I have used keytext from mjmsoft to automate many operations on pc's
and especially for acrobat automation
extremly easy to use

On a mac you can create an automated workflow with Acrobat Preflights.
- Create a droplet with a succes and failed folder.
- Create an automater script and that looks into an input-folder if there are any files with a .pdf extention
- Then open it with the droplet.
- Let the script run repeatedly with a free automater tool:

Automator - Downloads

That's it.

Thanks for all your replies, unfortunately were not able to get any additional software for this, it was only if Acrobat could achieve it.

Thanks
Andy
