Braille damage in cartons

hey guys,

We are a packaging company facing problems of damage to our braille embossing. We have tried a few things like using higher quality varnish and better handling but to no avail.

This is slowly becoming a major issue for us.Would appreciate some advice from the resident experts on this community so that we can nip this issue in the bud.

Thanks in advance!

I have difficulty understanding your post. Don you mean that the raised areas of your Braille embossed products are getting flattened it transit or shipping as opposed to handling in your plant? How would a better quality varnish prevent this?

I do Braille embossing on business cards and ship by UPS with no problems for years.

Hey Al,

Sorry for being so ambiguous. I mean that once we braille emboss our cartons in the die-cutting stage we find that the raised braille area gets damaged/flattened during further processing and also during transit.

It would be very helpful to know if you too emboss your products using a die cutter and what precautions and procedures you follow.

Are you running the cartons through a folder gluer after die cutting? If so then is the flattening being caused on the folder gluer, belts on the braille or nip rollers running over the braille at the transfer station.
Clive.
