Hello to everyone.
We sre looking of buying a new Canon imagepress v900 for photo printing to make small photobooks, similar to booklets and today did some test prints which were not at all satisfactory.
There were a lot of grain, banding, harsh gradations , lines on print. Printed on 350 gsm coated Fabriano paper. The 140 gsm was a bit better.
The issue was probably with the operator because they were oriented to photocopy business rather on quality.
It runs the imagepress server 400 which is a fiery fs500, so is this system capable achieving good results with proper icc calibration when using the i3 xrite pro?
I've also heard that for photography prints, the Konica Minolta c83hc is the king.
And I recently looked at some samples from the Fuji revoriapress sc285s and they were fantastic. I reckon the apeospro c6/750 and c810 are good too?
Please let me know if the v900 is capable because we have a very good deal waiting. 11000$ for a new machine, built in spectrophotometter and the fiery fs500 (server 400).
Today I am taking a decision and your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
