CHILI publish creator of software for interactive artwork & marketing material creation—an Adobe Illustrator plug-in—unveils the latest and most important label & packaging update—CHILI publisher V5.7.
Based on requests & user feedback from label and packaging markets, the added features include:
  • Laetus and PDF417 barcode generation
    • The pharmaceutical industry will be able to transform the sustainability of their packaging infrastructure with the newly introduced support for GS1-compliant barcodes. They can now design and manipulate pharma / Laetus codes, connecting them directly to their PIM system, ensuring products are tracked and traced with full confidence once they leave the production line. The Laetus barcode generator is fully compliant with the serialization regulations of the Crypto-Code Act.
    • The enhanced barcode integration also extends to the inclusion of PDF417 barcodes, a feature that businesses operating in transport and logistics and those working in government-connected organizations will find the most value.
  • A mixed inks feature
    • Combines different processing steps into one color.
    • The addition of mixed ink color swatches. For those involved in the design of packaging or labels, this feature provides the flexibility needed to manage overprint and object knockouts.
    • One or multiple CMYK colors can be combined with a spot color in one time-saving step, enabling a colored shape or text with an additional layer—such as white ink, varnish or bevel.
  • A step feature in the PDF generator that optimizes workflow—
    • The ‘step’ feature in the PDF generator supports data-sources, allowing every instance of a design to be uniquely variable on the final printing sheet. It allows users to draw information from VDP data sources to create large quantities of similar labels with all the variable changes needed, eliminating additional workflow & imposition steps.
Visitors can experience these new features and get a demo at Booth #11657 at Printing United: October 23 – 25, 2019 in Dallas.
