Look at the file size of the job you're trying to print, and, how are you sending to the rip (PDF, PPML, VIPP, etc). If you're sending as a PDF, try switching to PPML, or visa-versa. Also, make sure the art is optimized - take a good hard detailed look. If the art came from a graphic artist who is not used to designing for digital, it's probably too big and bulky. (Graphic artists who design for offset don't need to worry about how inefficient their art is -- it just changes whether it will take 10 minutes or 20 minutes through their CTP device to cut to the plate. Once the plate is made, it will mount on the press and run at max speed). But, when you are running digital, and you need to merge 5,000 records with that art, it could take hours!
