top o teh mournin to ya!
so here's my question / issue / topic for you all to bat around. i'm runnin a doc 6180 in a new shop, been there for a month now, and these guys have pushed through a couple of 10,000 sheet runs of kiss cut label stock imprints that seem to be slingin glue into or around the machine. it seems to be hittin the pr belt and causin spots. i know general maintenance and such, and have tried cleaning the belt but it doesn't seem to come off. there has to be a way other than puttin a new belt on every time. so my questions are:

does anyone know a more aggressive way to clean the belt without damaging it?
any other lesser known spots inside the machine i should be cleaning after running this stock?
anyone have any experience running die-cut label stock?

any help would be appreciated!
thank you kindly.

I think the only way to run self adhesive sheets through a toner device is to use laser safe product. This way it's guaranteed to work under high temperature conditions. If you've used such a product I would go back to the label manufacturer with a complaint and expect them to fix your problem. If you have used stock that is non laser guaranteed then I think you have a problem on your hands. Cleaning this may prove impossible.

People with much more experience may have a different answer as I am relatively new to the digital world.

Are the sheets you running just Kisscut with a die, or is the diecut more complicated than that?

The best option would be to print on the sticker stock before any kisscutting or diecutting has been done - then cut them afterwards. If that's not possible put them in a tray that is the same level as the fuser so that your paper path is as straight as possible, and make sure you have the precise stock thickness and weight entered correctly in your stock selection so you can avoid unneccesary heat or pressure on the paper.

We run lots of it through our three Xerox machines and we only see glue related maintanence issues on extremely large runs. 10k sheets of sticker stock would be considered pretty large considering the medium.

I'm not too sure on any info about cleaning the belt.

it comes to me pre die cut in 33 up jewelry tags unfortunately. and it is an off brand. i tried to tell them to go to mactac or avery, but no dice. i am still the new kid there. =/
i have been runnin it through the flattest paper path possible, but i will give the idea of tweakin the weight / type a try! thanks for knockin an idea loose that was stuck in the back of my head!
