Digital Printing Solutions Product Engineer for IHPS

Job Position is an individual contributor working in the Inkjet Highspeed Production Solutions organization of HP. We design, manufacture, and sell commercial high speed digital printing presses for the Publishing, Direct Mail, and Transactional markets. Work with a great team creating disruptive Hewlett-Packard products in the digital printing market. Be part of the Solutions Team and work with Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to ensure our products work well in the market, are well understood, and are properly used by our Customers with a high degree of customer satisfaction.

Solutions Product Engineer for IHPS - pre and post-sales engineer/market developer
The first responsibility is to understand the technical details of the HP Inkjet Digital Web Presses, the Workflow Solutions in the Commercial Printing industry, and potential needs from customers. Synthesize/translate this understanding into requirements for the Solutions team. Monitor the market, customer, and technical trends and their implications for the Solutions team. Source and leverages customer and market information to build deep understanding of target segments and local markets. Work with the team and customers to develop solutions to address the market needs. Within the scope of pre-press and finishing solutions, develop custom product and service propositions for the printing applications of books, transactional, direct mail, and newspapers. Deliver technical subject matter expertise to differentiate & drive our solutions in deals and customer satisfaction situations.
Generate insightful, customer-specific propositions and information within existing product/ service/solution portfolio. Tailor the mix for specific target customers. Reflect product/service/solution and supply chain requirements in implementation planning. Work in tandem with Indigo Digital Press organization to assure an integrated HP portfolio.

The second responsibility is to develop and deploy solution material to build awareness/consideration/preference (ACP) and/or generate demand for the verified solutions which work with the HP Digital Web Presses. Develop value propositions and/or messaging for these solutions and demand generating products.
Track and report on both responsibilities. For example, determine scorecard/dashboard metrics, goals, and benchmarks for these products and services from the Solutions Team. Provide marketing support activities as needed.

The third responsibility is to deliver professional, high quality customer consulting on Solutions for the HP Inkjet Web Press, increasing Total Customer Experience satisfaction and serving as a technical authority to the field sales force. Create & deliver the content necessary to support initial releases and the on going successful use of our technologies and solutions as part of the go to market process. Participate in the strategy, drive and own the creation and delivery of trade show materials and activities for key events such as partner conferences.

Responsibilities:
Designs engineering solutions for electrical and electronic parts, subsystems, integrated circuitry, and algorithms based on established engineering principles and in accordance with development technology practices and guidelines.
Develops and implements parameters and test plans for new and existing designs, including validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, thermal generation, and system power measurements
Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution
Leads a project team of other electrical hardware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for moderately-complex products.
Represents the electrical hardware team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.
Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.
Enthusiastic, outgoing with great personal and written skills in communication
Engineering degree (preferably Software or Computer Science)
Work history with track record of working closely with Product Marketing.
Minimum of 5 years experience in the above.
