If you have an image that is printing heavy or dark, is there a benefit to using a DGC at the RIP rather than just lightening the file in Photoshop? It seems the same to me--am I missing something?

Is everything (images, tints, graphics etc.) printing heavy or just the one image in particular? If just the individual image, it should be adressed in PS

DGC affect everything - all tints, images etc. They are usually created for specific print conditions/papers etc. So if you are trying to fix one image that way you will be throwing everything else off...
