Epson 9900 Weird Pattern

We have an Epson 9900 printer with BlackMagic rip. When we print solid colors 100% CMYK or 100% Red, Green and Blue, we are getting this weird pattern on our prints. Check pic out. Any info would be appreciated.

What happens when you print using the Epson print driver? First level troubleshooting is to find out if this is a RIP issue or an Epson issue.

We have used the Epson driver and still got a pattern. Although, not as pronounce as the other one, but still visible. Any suggestions?

Tough to say without knowing the scale... I'd start with a printhead cleaning and an alignmet. If your nozzle check is clear and you're still seeing it, try a media feed adjustment.

Thanks for the input. We have performed both of those. Head cleaning and alignment as well as nozzle checks. We also did a media feet adjustment and tried a different stock of material as well.

Have you tried printing unidirectional instead of bidirectional or even try a different resolution? Maybe also try setting the media thickness a little lower? I'd guess your head slant is a bit off, it can happen if you've had a bad head crash or media jam.

We have tried uni directional with same results. We currently print at 720dpi x 720dpi. We have tried 1440dpi x 720dpi with same result. The problem with higher dpi it really slows down the printing process. We did try the Epson print driver at 720dpi and it comes out fine. We even had an tech out here double check the print. Is is possible that our current rip Epson driver is bad?
