Epson Watercolor Radiant White vs. Velvet Fine Art

I'm wondering of anyone has an opinion on Watercolor Radiant White vs. Velvet or other standard fine art papers.

Watercolor seems to be Epson's bargain basement fine art paper, but my impression is that this has less to do with image quality than presentation. Velvet is twice as thick and feels fantastic when you handle it, but you would be hard pressed to the two stocks apart, once they are framed and matted. WRW has a better archival rating, and seems to have better shadow contrast. That's my initial sense, at least, in experimenting with these; if anyone has a more authoritative opinion, I'd be interested to hear it.
