wonderings

We started with a Xerox Doc 12 used, about 2 years ago. After a year of the Doc 12 we added a Doc 260. Been using the EFI Fiery Rip. I see talk of different rips on the forums, but not sure exactly what is better about them or how they improve anything. Anyone able to point me to, or give me a brief description of what the different rips do or offer over the Fiery?

thanks

Is Ford better than Chevy.... is a PC better than a Mac..... is Scotch better than Bourbon? It's all personal choice.

Ha! Ha! Well said Craig! Although, I HEARD that if your going to do a lot of VDP, you'll need an external RIP. I could be wrong.

I second this; go fully loaded with an external RIP if you are doing a lot of VDP

We are not doing any VDP at the moment. I am not exactly pleased with the colour on our Docucolour 260, which is why I got thinking about the other RIPS. I am not sure if they will/would make any difference in colour quality.

Investing in a decent spectro compatible with your RIP will get you closer on colour, assuming that you can profile your paper. I don't know if the bustled RIP allows you to do this, someone from Xerox will probably chip in with a confirmation one way or the other.
