How to, Apogee Prepress colour management?

Hello, I’ve been searching for answers to my colour management questions; but haven’t found anything yet.

First I would like to give a little background, I run a commercial newspaper print shop and I am trying to work towards the ISOnewspaper30v4 specs. I am trying to find out how to set up my Apogee Prepress workflow (v5).

Here’s what I have done so far:
Generic Press Task Processor -> Color Profile -> ISOnewspaper30v4

PDF Render -> Generic Press Settings -> ISOnewspaper30v4

I don’t have a clue on how to set up the PDF Render:

PDF Render -> rgb -> images:

Untagged (No Profile attached): ?
Tagged (Profile attached): ?
Default ICC Profile: ?
Rendering Intent: ?
Black Point Compensation: ?
Device Link Profile: ? I am assuming that I don’t need a device link profile because I am using the ISO profile in the Generic Press Task Processor

I have the same questions for the, Gray, CMYK, Spot & Document settings in the PDF Render Task Processor.

Thanks,

JP

PS: I just ordered the Real World Color Management book from Amazon.

Untagged (No Profile attached): sRGB (would be the safe assumption)
Tagged (Profile attached): Use profile (otherwise you are changing appearance of work)
Default ICC Profile: sRGB
Rendering Intent: Preceptual (since you are going to a small gamut)
Black Point Compensation: (ok to check, but has no effect on persceptual)
Device Link Profile: ? I am assuming that I don’t need a device link profile because I am using the ISO profile in the Generic Press Task Processor

I have the same questions for the, Gray, (this depends on what used to be standard in your region)
Untagged (No Profile attached): I susspect gamma 2.2, but won't swear by it (would be the safe assumption)
Tagged (Profile attached): Use profile (otherwise you are changing appearance of work)
Default ICC Profile: As default
Rendering Intent: Relative (since we want black and white points to be maintained)
Black Point Compensation: yes
Device Link Profile: ? I am assuming that I don’t need a device link profile because I am using the ISO profile in the Generic Press Task Processor

CMYK, Spot & Document settings in the PDF Render Task Processor.
(this depends on what used to be standard in your region)
Untagged (No Profile attached): I'd set to sama as default (same effect as preserve values)
Tagged (Profile attached): Use profile (otherwise you are changing appearance of work)
Default ICC Profile: OutputIntent
Rendering Intent: Relative (since we want pure colours to be breserved and white points to be maintained)
Black Point Compensation: yes
Device Link Profile: ? I am assuming that I don’t need a device link profile because I am using the ISO profile in the Generic Press Task Processor

There is also an option for exceptions and I would preserve pure colours. And more important to preserve black.

Spot colours can use Absolute colometric and peserve paper white.
Think that covers it ;P

Thanks for the answer Lukas. : ) I'm going to run some tests through your suggestions Monday and see what I get!

I'll leave a note on what I've found!

Cheers,

JP
