Sorry, I would've had a solution for mac only using AppleScript. 1 AppleScript to resize all your images to whatever max size you need and another AppleScript to place everything in InDesign. I'm sure Javascript could also do it on pc but I have no Javascript skills. Try Adobe Photoshop forum. Good luck.

Adobe Bridge - which you have if you have Photoshop - has a GREAT contact sheet feature!

There is a script in InDesign called "image catalog". With it you can determine how many images you want on a page, point size when labeling the images, etc.

There's a new feature in InDesign CS5 (in conjunction with Mini Bridge) that allows for multiple image insertions (along with layout and spacing etc) by simply draging a batch of files straight into the InDesign layout.

I'll second Adobe Bridge. Great contact feature you can customize. Used it several times for photos. CS4 version will create a PDF it you like.

Good luck

I would personally run a batch edit in photoshop to resize, and then use the print dialogue in lightroom. If you've never had a look at lightroom's print dialogue, it's great for things like that.
