Allow to acquaint you with intermediate results of work by definition of coverage of multicolor printing process of the digital printing machine hp indigo press 5000. Work is spent within the limits of industrial testing of software product Equinox, from EskoArtwork Company.
Achievement of the maximum volume of a body of color coverage and the maximum area of a projection of this on a plane a, b was the work purpose. Work is conducted by construction multicolor ICC profiles by means of software product X-Rite ProfileMaker 5 and their researches by means of software product Chromix ColorThink 3.0Pro.
As "reference" color coverage color coverage of large-format jet printer Epson Stylus Pro 7900 has been chosen. The given printer has been estimated by experts European Digital Press Association as «the Best decision for a coloring test 2009». Experts EDP have especially noted high technology of press Epson MicroPiezo ™ TFP and improved ink Epson UltraChrome ™ HDR.
List Epson UltraChrome â„¢ HDR includes 11 kinds of pigmentary ink: Cyan, Light Cyan, Vivid Magenta, Vivid Light Magenta, Yellow, Photo Black (Matte Black), Light Black, Light Light Black, Green, Orange.
In Epson Stylus Pro 7900 printer 11 cartridges are established, simultaneously at the printing are used 10 of them.
The list hp ElectroInk â„¢ includes 12 kinds of a polymeric toner applied to color synthesis: Cyan, Light Cyan, Magenta, Light Magenta, Yellow, Bright Yellow, Black, Orange, Deep Violet, Green, Reflex Blue, Rhodamine Red.
Also there are 7 more kinds of the polymeric toner, which application in color synthesis inconveniently: Transparent, White Ink, Digital matte Ink, Invisible (UV) Red Ink, Invisible (UV) Blue Ink, Yellow Fluorescent, Pink Fluorescent.
In the printing machine hp indigo press 5000 7 colorful sections are established, all are accessible to the printing.
By construction multicolor ICC profiles following combinations of hp ElectroInk â„¢ have been investigated:
Variant 1: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black, Orange, Green, Reflex Blue.
Variant 2: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black, Orange, Green, Deep Violet.
Variant 3: Cyan, Rhodamine Red, Yellow, Black, Orange, Green, Reflex Blue.
Variant 4: Cyan, Rhodamine Red, Yellow, Black, Orange, Green, Deep Violet.
For all tested variants, 3.0Pro has been calculated the gamut volume and is compared by means Chromix ColorThink to "reference" gamut volume of printer Epson Stylus Pro 7900.
The gamut volume of printer Epson Stylus Pro 7900 has made 764484 ΔЕ ³.
The gamut volume of 1st variant has made 626268 ΔЕ ³, 2nd variant - 654469 ΔЕ ³, 3rd variant - 674189 ΔЕ ³ and 4th variant - 671560 ΔЕ ³.
Visual research combined by means Chromix ColorThink 3.0Pro, visual displays of color coverage of tested combinations of paints with "reference" color coverage and visualization of color samples of Pantone library has revealed the following:
- 3rd and 4th variants of color coverage have advantage before "reference" in blue - violet area because of application of Rhodamine Red, Reflex Blue and Deep Violet inks, it is most brightly expressed in a variant 4, because of application of Deep Violet ink.
- "Reference" color coverage has strongly pronounced advantage in reproduction «high lights» because of application of ink Light Cyan and Vivid Light Magenta in the field of the sated colors both Light Black and Light Light Black in the field of neutral tones.
- Other distinctions between tested bodies of color coverage are insignificant.
