Hi guys,

we are thinking of buying a Heidelberg Speedmaster 10P. My question, for those who know this machines, is: should it have Image Control or Axis Control? I know Image Control is a more advanced system, but what are there pro / cons for either one for them?

thank you,

If you have the extra money go for image control. Axis control limits its readings to a control strip which is ok as many press control systems use this to control ink density. Image control looks at the entire sheet. If you only need to contol ink desity then Axis will do a great job, if you want to get into some high quality work requiring Spectral control invest in Image Control.

It depends what you print and how many printing machines you have. If you have several machines (Heidelberg), Image Control can control up to 4 presses. Axis Control works only for one press. If you print mostly magazines, catalogs etc and you are not planning to buy additional machines later on, then go for Axis Control. If you print mostly labels, packages etc. then you can consider to go for Image Control even for only one machine. It has many good advantages for such jobs. Also you can think about Inpress Control especially for 10P machine. It costs more but provides fastest and dynamic ink zone control.
