Impurities in print to carboard GD

Hello all,
can you please view the problem with printing on the GD board 250 gsm.
We performed a calibration at clients plant, density (with respect to compliance with ISO 12647-2) has been set at about 1.5 chromatic and 1.7 black. The results are very good. Colors OK, TVI is OK, crisp prints in the shadows.
Sometimes, however, appear in print impurities in the form of small particles of paper (most likely). Not as the result of calibration, it is long term problem, but it has been argued (by some of the staff) that the solution is to print at much higher density, say 1.8 chromatic, 2.2 black.
But means sacrificing compliance with ISO 12647-2 in primary colors and secondary colors and use a much stronger correction for CTP (with all the unpleasant consequences) - so i hope, there is another solution, another reason for impurities ..
The printers take turns in shifts, problems with dirt have only some (they claim).
Rapida 162a, paper Cardboard GD, color Huber Resista.
I will appreciate any feedback.

Paper is always dirty and when it comes to board stock forget about it, you're gonna get hickies and what not. You can do what you're saying or reduce your ink and get probably better results. Two tricks you can try, one already mentioned above, or just laying a thin film of transparent white on the sheet just to grab all the lint and crap off it before it hits the print units.

Stickies

Stickies

The problem with board is the recycled content witch contains stickies.

Stickies are composed of glue, tape and ottres similar contaminants that are very challenging for the papermaker to remove.

They are prevalent in board because the main ingredient is OCC (old cardboard containers)

Options are to purchase board made from virgin fiber or, stop and wash!
