InDesign Plugin In The Cloud

There was a lot of recent discussion regarding VDP solutions and specially those that are plugins to InDesign.

How does that process work now that InDesign is only available through the Adobe creative cloud? I could see where users of older versions might be able to continue using them. Are new users required to have a cloud subscription?

You might be thinking InDesign runs in the cloud with the new structure. It doesn't, it is a downloadable application where the license is cloud based. Individual Plugins still work on your local computer.
