inDesign whole document color shift when placing object

I can't figure this one out.

The document prints perfectly, then I place an image from photoshop into the document. I print it without any further changes. The printed page has a color shift.

I have the color management settings synchronized. I'm using normal 100% transparency for all objects in the document.

I could understand a placed object's color shifting due to mismatched color settings, but why would simply placing an image onto the page cause the ENTIRE page to shift?

Anybody had this issue before?

Does that Photoshop image of whatever format have transarency, implied or otherwise? Perhaps it has a transparent background or is clipped? That will invoke transparency flattening at some point in your workflow and depending upon the settings ...

Just having colour settings synchronised is not a solution. It really depends on WHAT the settings are. Presonally i do not believe they should be synchronised.

One big question is what is your colour blend space? Is it CMYK or RGB? What printer are you printing to, CMYK or RGB?

when you print from indesign try clicking on the selection called "simulate overprint" in the "output" section, this only works if you are printing a composite. But i have found that this fixes a whole slew of problems with transparency issues. It may fix yours, who knows.
