Anyone done any testing to see if the difference between (8bit) small, medium and large profiles makes a difference in profiles for printing (litho, flexo, digital etc).

I see the volumes are about the same, but the grid points are different and the file sizes are significantly different, small about 3MB and large about 9MB.

Just my own opinion, but I recommend large profiles for proofing. More grid points in the profile means better accuracy. However, for conversions, go with small. The fewer grid points should yield smoother conversions - less chance of inducing banding.

Accuracy is often over-rated.
